Historical Final Day For Districts 2, 7

Today August 8, 2024 marks a historic moment as Districts two and seven meet in the final of the Liberia Football Association Montserrado Districts League at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in central Monrovia.
Both teams are making their first-ever appearance in the final, setting the stage for an exciting showdown for the people of Montserrado County at the examination hall of Liberian football.
District two’s journey to this final had been one described as drama with the involvement of one of the youngest coaches in the Liberian football arena in person of Mohamed Sheriff.
This team with youngster Kindness Cole and others overcame District 17 in a thrilling semifinal that ended 3-3, with Kindness Cole scoring a hat-trick to lead his team to a penalty shootout victory. In the shootout, district two triumphed 4-3 that secured them their first ever spot in the grand finale.
On the other hand, District seven accordingly demonstrated their strength by defeating District 15 with a commanding 3-0 victory in their semifinal match.
Terry Sackor’s brace and Augustine Dayougar’s goal ensured District 7’s place in the final.
As both District Two and District seven prepare to battle it out for their first league title, fans are eagerly anticipating a match filled with intensity and excitement.
The final which promises a memorable end to the 2024 LFA Montserrado Districts League will kick off this afternoon.
Meanwhile, district Seven Representative Emmanuel Dahn has celebrated his boys for reaching the Final expressing immense pride and gratitude to the team through a publication on his social media handle.
In a heartfelt statement, the representative acknowledged the collective efforts that led to this historic achievement. “First, to the ALMIGHTY GOD, who granted us this favor to make history under our leadership,” he said, emphasizing the spiritual support behind their success.
The representative praised the players for their determination and resilience, noting, “To the players who identified their true potential, regained their confidence, and fought till this point even after the defeat in our second game.”
He expressed optimism that the team can lift the title which will be one of the greatest achievements for the district using the efforts that have been exerted for the unity and reconciliation of the people. “We remain optimistic about lifting the trophy,” he said rallying residents to continue supporting the team by making their way to the finals.
