A heavy down pull of rain in Paynesville yesterday disrupted the matchday two for Watanga and Bea Mountain while the reschedule date remains undisclosed.
At the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex practice pitch during the afternoon of Tuesday, hundreds of fans and sports lovers of the two First Division teams were disappointment when the first half of the defending champions match came to a standstill though was later rescheduled.
At about 26 minutes of play, LFA referee Hassan Corneh called the game to a climax due to a torrential rainfall at a time where the two teams were still fighting to take a lead from a 0-0 score record.
As the reschedule match date between the Paynesville pride soccer stars and the Gold Boys from Cape Mount remains undisclosed to the public, Watanga is expected to depart Liberia tomorrow for Nigeria.
The adjustment in the LFA fixture to place Watanga with Bea Mountain was reportedly done in order to give the champion the time to embark on their international endeavour against their counter from Nigeria who are also the champions of their domestic league.
The Shipping Boys also on the same international assignment will take on the host of their Second first division match Muscat FC who lost to Bea Mountain on day one of the national Orange League.
On the international assignment, Watanga will meet Rivers United in Port Harcourt at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in a CAF championship match the Sunday after their arrival in the land of the opponents.
On the other hand, the Petrol Trade Cup holders LISCR Football Club will play host to Sporting Club de Gagnoa of the Ivory Coast on September 11, 2022 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
LISCR match is the first leg of the Confederation Cup first qualifying round for 2022/23 under the Confederation of African Football CAF.
