By Solomon T. Gaye Sr.
Liberia’s Joint Security in Nimba has disclosed the closure of borders by the government of Guinea with Liberia in Ganta, Nimba County.
According to the Liberia Joint Security, the closure of the borders with Liberia is designed to stop commercial vehicles conveying travelers from other countries prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus into the country.
Speaking further, Guinean State security closed all borders with Liberia over the weekend and only allowed cargo trucks and ‘USED CARS’ to enter the country at the border in Ganta, Nimba County.
For the past week, several Guineans residing in Ganta and doing business between the two countries buying Goods in Nzerekore Guinea belt are presently stranded at the main border in Ganta due to the closure by the Guinean Government.
Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, slow movement and border trading between the two countries had been to a standstill, thereby creating serious economic hardship to generate revenue for the government.
