“Grand Gedeh, Nimba Need Peace Festival” -Senator Nimely Discloses

Grand Gedeh Senator Thomas Yaya Nimely says members of the traditional chief and elder council of Nimba and Grand Gedeh counties need to organize peace festival geared towards peace and reconciliation between the two neighboring counties.
Speaking in Gompa City, Senator Nimely boasted over the cordial working relationship between him and PYJ prior to his death.
According to Senator Nimely, plans are underway to meet with local authorities, traditional elders and chiefs, women group and other structures to organize peace festival in memory of the late Senator Johnson and former President Samuel K. Doe.
“We don’t want for Senator Johnson or former President Doe’s death to divide us. We want peace between Nimba and Grand Gedeh counties. Let Nimba construct a peace hall in memory of the late President Samuel Doe in Nimba and let Grand Gedeh do the same in memory of the late senator PYJ”, senator Nimely pointed out .
The Senator Nimely made the statement during the final funeral service held at the LPRC compound in Gompa for Nimba County’s late Senator Johnson.
Since the burial of the late Senator Johnson, there has been no official statement from the local authorities or the Nimba Legislative Caucus regarding senator Thomas Yaya Nimely’s proposed peace festival between the two counties .
