The National Teachers Association of Liberia (NTAL), Pleebo Sodoken District, president, Sylvester Scott, has expressed deep disappointment over the government’s failure to comply with the promised inclusion of volunteer teachers on the national payroll.
Mr. Scott, who heads the local NTAL leadership in Pleebo Sodoken Statutory District, explained that the Government of Liberia has failed to fulfill its promise to include all volunteer teachers on the payroll.

Moreover, Scott further noted that the government is removing names of existing teachers from the payroll without replacing them with new ones.
The NTAL Pleebo Sodoken District president used the occasion to petition the Liberian Ambassador to Japan to liaise with international organizations to create programs that support volunteer teachers in the county.

According to Scott, the situation has made many students at the University changing courses from education to something else in anticipation for a good living, he started.
