Gov’t Ends Chief Zanzan Karwor Over 18 Years Rule

Traditional Chief, Zanzan Karwor has been finally removed as the National Traditional Council of Chiefs and Elders of Liberia.

The disclosure was made by Internal Affairs Minister, Francis Nyumalin, in a live video monitored by the Inquirer Newspaper over the weekend, wherein he thanked elder Karwor for his service to country.

Minister Nyumalin, however, asserted that part of their gathering in Ganta in the coming days will be to comply with Chapter 3 of the Local Government Act of 2018 which talks about the establishment of the National Council of Chiefs of Liberia.

He added that the 15 Chairpersons of the County Council of Chiefs will elect their National Chairperson and other members National Council leadership of Chief and Elders during the gathering in Ganta.

Meanwhile, this latest pronouncement now brings to an end, the rule of Chief Karwor who has served in that position for decades covering the 12-year presidency of former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and the six-year tenure of former President George Weah.
