Gov’t Applauds Argentina On 208th Independence

The Government of Liberia extends its warmest congratulations and sincere best wishes to the Government and people of Argentina on the exceptional occasion of its 208th Independence Anniversary on July 9, 2024.
President Joseph Boakai on behalf of the government and in his name expressed confidence that the warm relations subsisting between the two countries and peoples will continue to flourish as the two leaders work together to attain global peace, security, economic and social development.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, he then assured his Argentinian counterpart, President Javier Milei of Liberia’s unwavering commitment to further renew friendship and cooperation with the sisterly Republic of Argentina in anticipation of broadening partnership in all spheres that promote prosperity in the two countries.
President Boakai then prayed that the Almighty God would continue to endow President Milei with wisdom, good health, and happiness as he led his people to greater prosperity.
Meanwhile, the Liberian leader congratulated The Right Honorable Sir Keir Starmer, on his election and appointment by His Majesty King Charles III as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Boakai stressed that leading the Labour Party to such a monumental achievement after fourteen years is a testament to the depth of your leadership.
The Liberian leader added that the global leadership of Britain has never been more crucial while emphasizing that Prime Minister Starmer has assumed office at a challenging time marked by pressing economic needs, significant debates on immigration, and the ongoing conflict on the European continent and elsewhere.
President Boakai stated that as a leader who has faced adversity and triumphed, he is confident that the British Prime Minister will guide the United Kingdom through these challenges and contribute to making the world a better place.
He expressed hope that under Prime Minister Starmer’s administration, the longstanding and growing relationship between the two countries will further expand across various fields, bringing tangible benefits to their people.
President Boakai then extended best wishes to The Right Honorable, and to the people of the United Kingdom, continue good health and happiness.a
