The Global Christian Ministry Forum International (GCMFI) Liberia chapter has launched a three-day spiritual revival and empowerment event, aimed at reawakening God’s presence in Liberia and strengthening the Christian Community.
The revival began on Wednesday, November 13, and will continue through Sunday, November 17, 2024, under the theme “Fear God.”
Reverend Sunday Gbamokollie, the newly appointed president of GCMFI Liberia, addressed the media on Wednesday, when he announced the event and outlined its objectives.
He emphasized that the revival seeks to renew GMFI’s mission in Liberia and foster greater unity and accountability among Christian leaders.
“Our theme, ‘Fear God,’ serves as a reminder for all believers to act with integrity and moral accountability in every area of life,” Reverend Gbamokollie said.
“This revival is an opportunity to recommit ourselves to the values that define our faith.”
GMFI has been active in Liberia for over 27 years, maintaining a consistent mission despite significant challenges.
Reverend Gbamokollie described the revival as a reawakening of the organization’s role within Liberia, noting that “the time has come for GCMFI Liberia to reestablish itself as a beacon of faith and trustworthiness in the Christian Community.”
The revival is expected to feature powerful sermons and teachings, with Reverend Gbamokollie and Bishop Ebenezer Sefah from Ghana leading the sessions.
Bishop Sefah will also conduct a special leadership workshop on Saturday, covering topics in biblical study, marriage, and Christian discipleship, aimed at reinforcing the commitment of participants to their faith and communities.
The event will culminate in a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday providing an opportunity for fellowship and gratitude among attendees.
Reverend Gbamokollie expects representatives from over ten Liberian churches affiliated with GCMFI to participate, hoping to reconnect with those who may have felt distanced from the network in recent years.
“This revival reminds us that God is still interested in our work here in Liberia. When we embrace the ‘Fear of God,’ we strengthen not only our faith but also the integrity and unity of our communities,” Reverend Gbamokollie concluded.
