GCC Reopens Streets In Nimba

By Solomon T. Gaye-Nimba
Gompa City Cooperation (GCC) has embarked on reopening streets in Gompa City, Nimba County.
Gompa City Mayor Samuel Hardt said the re-opening of streets is the city cooperation’s owned project sponsored by the city cooperation.
According to the Gompa Mayor, about twenty streets have been marked by city cooperation to be reconditioned to connect other communities during the Christmas season.
“The exercise is geared towards Christmas celebration and the hosting of government officials coming for the funeral of Senator Prince Y. Johnson in the county,” Mayor Hardt expressed.
Gompa City comprises over 30 communities yet lacks roads to connect with other communities, which is creating serious concern among the district’s residents.
Mayor Hardt replaces Amos G. Suah.
LMA’s table supervisor Marie Gbatu thanked GCC for opening the streets and called on other politicians to do the same.
“The reconditioning of streets will help to reduce crimes during the night hours,” Gbatu pointed out.
Since the beginning of December 2024, this is the second city that has embarked on the reconditioning of its streets.
Nimba has six cities; Gompa, Saclepea, Karnplay, Butuo, Sanniquellie, and Tappita, respectively.
