Ganta, Nimba County, Liberia Feb. 20, 2020 –The joint security assigned at the Ganta main border to Guinea has decried the slow movement of travelers at that crossing point in Liberia.
Speaking to this paper over the weekend, the joint security public relations officer, Samuel Buomie, attributed the slow movement to the acute shortages of petroleum in the country.
Ganta border contained seven sub-borders that are controlled by the joint security to prevent illegal entries of aliens, goods smuggles as well as other illegal goods into the country.
Petroleum shortage is creating serious hardship on citizens and residents as well as other travelers thereby depicting a picture of the border as a ghost town as it has brought normal activities to a standstill if no slowed down businesses.
Nimba has three legal borders that generate revenues for the government in the Yekepa, Loguatuo and Ganta areas.
