Vice President Jeremiah Koung has pleaded with his tribal people to forgive him for choosing the Unity Party’s candidate, Nyan Tuayen, as Senator over others who were in the race.
He made the open confession while in Nimba on a visit designed to officially thank his kinsmen, and as well tour the nine electoral districts to meet his people and understand their challenges and expectations.
“I am here in the county for one week; tomorrow I will be in Sanniquellie to meet with the residents, from there I will travel to Yekepa to meet with the residents,” VP Koung disclosed.
Vice president Koung’s visit to Yekepa was not disclosed during his tour, but many believed that his visit was designed to meet with residents of the affected communities that led to Poro masters setting road blocks that disrupted normal activities of AML.
VP Koung then praised his kinsmen for electing him as lawmaker first before Vice president.
Nimba County Superintendent, Kou Gono, said the visit of Vice president Koung will forever be remembered, as it has brought happiness to the residents in Nimba County.
Superintendent Gono thanked the residents and boasted that the election of VP Kough was not a mistake.
Meanwhile, a thanksgiving service is expected to be held at the Christian Bible Church, where he will meet with some elders behind closed doors.
