President Joseph Boakai, on Monday, November 12, 2024 signed the Book of Condolence in memory of the late Senator Sumo Kupee of Lofa County.
The Book of Condolence, which has been set up at the Legislature, provides an opportunity for citizens to express their grief and reflect on the life of the late senator.
Senator Kupee, was a respected leader from Lofa County, dedicated his life to public service, tirelessly advocated for the development and well-being of his community and the nation.
His leadership and commitment have left an indelible impact on both Lofa County and the people of Liberia.
The solemn occasion took place at the Rotunda of the Legislature, where the President joined family members, government officials, and citizens to pay tribute to the late lawmaker.
Senator Kupee, who peaceably passed away recently, was remembered for his dedicated service to Liberia, particularly his unwavering commitment to the people of Lofa County.
In his tribute, President Boakai expressed his deep condolences to the family, noting the senator’s impactful leadership in the National Legislature and his contributions to the nation’s development.
“Senator Sumo Kupee’s legacy is one of service, dedication, and sacrifice for his people and the country,” President Boakai said.
“His commitment to the welfare of Liberia will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him and benefited from his work,” President Boakai mentioned.
“Senator Kupee, represented Lofa County in the Liberian Senate and was known for his advocacy for rural development, education, and healthcare in Liberia’s northern region. His sudden passing has left a void in both the legislative body and the communities he served,” he added.
“Senator Kupee was not only a colleague but a friend and a man of honor who stood firmed in his convictions,” President Boakai stated.
“His contributions to the Liberian people will be remembered, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” he concluded.
