First Touch Tops LFA’s Youth Under 15 Classic League With Nine Points

The Ocean Blue Boys of First Touch Sports Academy are now on top of the Liberia Football Association Classic Youth under fifteen League table with nine points.

The creative youth team on Saturday, January 27, 2024, defeated Zontche Academy three goals to one to move top of the league table with nine points.

In what many termed as a one-sided fixture, First Touch took less than ten minutes in the first half to open the scoring, with two quick goals from star player Joseph Harris.

Harris’s individual ability saw him net two fantastic goals to send his team into a comfortable advantage before the break.

As happy fans and parents of First Touch cheered their team to victory, the in-form side also dominated possession over their opponents, displaying an entertaining game to send the team into First half with a two-goal lead.

Back from the break, Coach Alfred Collins rested some key players for their next match on Sunday, January 28, 2024, as the substitutions also reinforced his side in all departments.

With the impactful substitutions, left back Lamin Kamara mounted pressure from the left size of the pitch and increased their goal tally to three through a powerful left rooted strike from close range to seal the win for the Ocean Blue Boys.

On the other hand, Harris could have gotten his first hattrick of the league, but his missed penalty, which he later on converted easily into the back of the net, was canceled after a call from the ref. assistant number one, a decision that shocked many fans inside the stadium, thus preventing Harris from getting his hattrick.

The win for First Touch Sports Academy now sees them on top of the league table with nine points from three matches played.

In continuation of the league, First Touch will battle Redeem Football Academy on Sunday in their next match, as a win for them will see them maintain their lead on the league table.

According to Coach Alfred Collins, he is gradually making progress with his goal, and he remains focused and determined to ensure that he captures the league.

Lamin Kamara with three goals, as well as Gabriel Jusu and Joseph Harris with two goals each from three matches played, are the three top scorers for First Touch thus far.

In other results, Tebeh Academy trashed Hawa Sports Academy by five goals to two, while Soccer Ambassadors narrowly defeated AIE by one goal to zero.
