Figurative Or Insult
-Prematurely Adjourns Session

Serious disruption occurred in the Liberian Senate thereby prompting session to adjourn prematurely yesterday.
Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe and River Gee Senator Conmany Wesseh went at each other’s throats apparently as a result of the figurative word used by Senator Wesseh.
Wesseh was reporting on the amendment of the University of Liberia but was consistently interrupted by Snowe when he said, “Those empty hills are the ones distracting.”
Many of his colleagues apparently thought he meant ‘heads’ including Senator Snowe who misconstrued the figurative word terming it an insult thereby prompting him to retort in an unpleasant form and manner.
In Snowe’s reaction he said, “Those who wives cannot go back to MRU are upset in society.”
During the exchanges, Sinoe County Senator, J. Milton Teahjay called the attention of the plenary to demand an apology to Snowe but disappointedly, Senator Wesseh objected stating that his statement was misconstrued by members of the Senate.
