Margibi County Senator Emmanuel Nuquay was celebrated over the weekend for his contributions to education in the Fendell Community in Careysburg District, Montserrado County.
The appreciation program, organized by several schools, highlighted his financial aid initiative totaling LR$1,100,000, which has enabled numerous children to attend school.
Speaking at the event held at the United Deliverance Fountain of Knowledge Christian Academy (UDFOKCA) over the weekend, Senator Nuquay explained his approach to assisting residents and while he remains committed to helping those in need, he urged understanding when he is unable to meet requests immediately nothing, “I will not have and hold back but if I say it’s not there, that means it’s not there,” he stated, encouraging persistence and trust in his efforts.”
Jerry Darming, the program coordinator and special aide to Senator Nuquay, provided an overview of the initiative.
He explained that at the start of the school year, data was collected from families seeking support for their children’s education.
The senator then allocated L$1,100,000 to beneficiary schools, continuing his longstanding tradition of community assistance.
The event featured a parade through the main streets of the Fendell Community and various activities showcasing Senator Nuquay’s contributions.
Parents, students, teachers, and administrators expressed their gratitude through speeches, gowning ceremonies, and gift presentations.
Despite being a senator from Margibi County, Nuquay’s efforts have significantly impacted Montserrado residents.
Senator Nuquay reaffirmed his dedication to expanding the scholarship program within his capacity.
He emphasized that similar initiatives are active in Margibi County and assured attendees of continued support for beneficiary schools.
Inspired by the community’s appreciation, he vowed to do even more for his constituents.
Nuquay expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the recognition. “Nothing is too big for me to give back to my people,” he said, promising sustained efforts to uplift the community through education and other forms of assistance.
