The leadership of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has constituted four of the five Permanent Committees of the Union, with females dominating as heads.
All appointed Chairpersons are automatically qualified to serve on the Executive Committee, which is the second highest decision-making body of the Union next to Congress.
Those leading on the committees are Inquirer’s Managing Editor, Christiana Winnie Saywah-Jimmy-Membership; ECOWAS boss, Eva Flomo- Intellectual Discourse Committee; Martina Brooks-Sports and Entertainment Committee followed with the lone male, George Stewart who heads the Welfare Committee.
Meanwhile, these appointments comprise of diverse and competent team of 36 distinguished Liberian journalists, media and communication professionals.
The appointees are media and communication professionals who bring together over three decades of outstanding work and solid education credentials, along with a strong reputation of professionalism, credibility, excellence, and impartiality
PUL’s president Julius Kanubah said that the appointments aim to activate and enhance the effective and inclusive governance of the PUL after years of institutional paralysis.
Kanubah expressed delight that the PUL is steadily being restored, applauding those appointed for agreeing to make their services available to the Union in these crucial times of institutional restoration.
The PUL President admonished those appointed to serve with distinction, integrity, and dignity, urging them to take their appointments as one of the highest honors and callings in the service and interest of the PUL and the integrity of journalism, media and communication.
