FeJAL Rolls Out USAID Media Activity Project
…Trains 20 Entry Level Journalist

The Female Journalists Association of Liberia (FeJAL) in collaboration with Internews with funding from USAID will today climax a three day Basic Journalism Training for 20 female journalists at the entry level.
The female journalists who are from six counties namely Montserrado, Grand Bassa, Margibi, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi and Rivercess are being trained from July 6-8, 2022 by FeJAL mentors in Monrovia who themselves are media experts and are making strides in their various media institutions.
The mentees are expected to be paired with members of the pool of FeJAL Mentors while reporting from their various media institutions.
These entry level journalists will be enrolled in a mentorship program immediately after the training while the mentors are expected to provide professional guidance and support for these entry level journalists during the period of the project and beyond.
This training is part of the USAID Media Activity Project being implemented by Internews.
Speaking on behalf of Internews during the opening ceremony on Wednesday, Madam Torwon Sulonteh-Brown encouraged the journalists to take the training seriously and do their best to strive for professionalism.
She said it is internews’ desire to see women journalists increased in the Liberian media.
