Family Nursery Center School Observe Career Day

The Family Nursery Center School (FNC) owned by the former Minister of Education, Dwaboyea Evelyn Kandakai, observed its career day program.
Explaining the importance of celebrating a career day with kids at the kindergarten level, Madam Kandakai said it is an event that helps students learn about future work place opportunities.
According to her, career day exposes students to career they may not have imagined, because students have the chance to learn about careers that align with their interest and skills.
The FNC Board of Directors added that career day is also important because it helps students connect what they are learning in school with the workplace.
“When we talk about career day program, most people focus can usually be on adults, but it is necessary that children also participate in order to boost their learning process,” she said.
Madam Kandakai said further that students during the career day event get the opportunity to meet community workers, interact with them and also dress in the outfits befitting their future careers.
“This career project is also intended to increase the students’ knowledge of different career opportunities and vocational pathways by putting them in touch with a range of different professionals and provide opportunities for reflection and questioning,” she said.
The program held at the FNC branch #1 in Mamba Point, Monrovia was graced by several parents, teachers’ students and well-wishers.
Some of the kindergarten students that participated at the career day event includes; Abullah A. McCarthy the president, Ikechukwu D. Ezebuo the soldier, Benjamia S. Tamba the police man, Sarah Zowolo the nurse, Christian London as the business man, Fatu Ramadah Dorley the banker, Abraham W. Toe the teacher, and Prince Gargar the pastor.
The students all explained the importance of their roles and the work they do in order to help the citizens and the society at large.
Meanwhile, the parents who were overwhelmed by the performances of their children applauded the school and promised that FNC will continue to be the best area of learning for their children.
