EYA Champions Atlantic Super Quizzing Cup

The Liberia Institute for Knowledge and Excellence (LiKE) has crowned Esther Yarlateh Academy (EYA) as the 2024 Champions of the Atlantic Super Cup Quizzing Competition.

Yarlateh Academy based Brewerville played in a tight final against the Christian Missionary Fellowship International Bi-lingual School last Friday, April 19, 2024 in Sinkor with a favorable 10 points margin. They topped the game total score with 70 points against CMFI’s 60 point. 

In the first half of the academic attainment battle which entertained five question each in five different categories of subjects though under the curriculum, the CMFI Bi-lingual School team of all boys raised the show of robust anger with readiness to claim the giant-sized trophy by answering four questions rewarded 10 points each.

Though there were 10 points deducted from CMFI for match irregularities like incomplete interruption of question, they still won the first portion of the game with a margin of 25 points.

Esther Yarlateh Academy got in response to close the gap immediately at the start of the second half using their lone female quizzer D. Bendu Massalley strength in General Science.

The scholar overturned their initial deficit by answering three out of four questions in the first category of the final half and her speed and accuracy on the belt give her the advantage to wake up her fans and school mates keeping them on their toes throughout the last quarter.

At the end of the match, the Quiz Master General of Liberia Institute of Knowledge and Excellence Phil Tarpeh Dixion congratulated EYA for maintaining their excellence in the competition and emerging as the champion of the event.

He explained that the Super Cup drew teams from across the country to participate in knowledge building programs.

Students from Bong County formed an All-Star team that appeared among the top four participating teams in competition.

Dixon called on students to continue involvement into educational activities that will improve competitive learning at all level noting, “Education is priority sector because it paves the way for the development of the human resource in order to have a lasting future.”
