Ecoworld Airline, a professional commercial airline has launched its maiden flight in Liberia intended to ease the transportation burden or constrains Liberians go through in commuting from one county to another.
The airline, which landed in the country on Saturday, January 13, 2023, will provide daily domestic service from the James Springs Airport in Sinkor to Harper in Maryland, and Greenville in Sinoe Counties.
Others destinations include Zwedru in Grand Gedeh County, Voinjama and Foya in Lofa County respectively, with Conakry, Guinea and Freetown, Sierra Leone are also expected destinations to be added in the coming days or so.
Ecoworld which is owned and operated by a Liberian- Nigerian business tycoon, Dr. Nelson Oniyama also offers chartered flights to ensure customers’ privacy is protected, as tickets for travel can be purchased at Ecoworld Airlines at Springs Payne Airport in Fiamah and Oragon Travel Services and Tours at 14 Street, Sinkor.

Speaking on Saturday, January 13, 2023 during the landing of the plane at the James Springs Airport in Sinkor, Liberia’s Minister of State, Blamo Wesseh on behalf of government thanked Ecoworld for the initiative which he described as a win and boost for the country’s economy.
Mr. Wesseh who proxied for President George M. Weah at the occasion maintained that the plane couldn’t have a better time than now, something he noted that will help ease the impediments people encounter in leaving for other nearby counties.
“I am excited to be here today at this historic event. Dr. Oniyama, let me on behalf of the President say a very big thank you for the farsightedness in helping the government improve the transport sector of our country, and I will be one of your number one passenger,” he added.
Minister Wesseh at the same time also called on the Liberian- Nigerian business tycoon to see the need and also bring into the country a chopper and mini-jet which he said will also help transport citizens to other nearby counties as well as neighboring countries.
Earlier, Ecoworld owner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Nelson Oniyama said the plane is a 17-seater plane with a high quality of service which includes good service, affordable ticket price with a unique customer services.
“We are ready and prepared to provide safe, reliable service throughout Liberia because our plane is insured and we did pass all of the necessary rules and guidelines as prescribed by the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) prior to the landing on the country’s soil,” he explained.
According to him, their aim and objective of bringing an airline is to facilitate and buttress government’s effort through the transporting of sick patients and others from far-to-reach counties and with deplorable or if not very impassable.
Dr. Oniyama stated further that their mission is to also provide the business community, nongovernmental agencies, government and all other customers a gate way to travel throughout Liberia, its surrounding regions safely, efficiently, and in a simple and unswerving style.
The Ecoworld boss added, “The security safety of our passengers is our highest priority. Various policies, procedures, measures and resources have been put in place to ensure that all our passengers and staff enjoy a hassle-free and safe flying experience.”
He then thanked the government through the office of the President, the LCAA, the National Police (LNP), the Ministry of Transport and other relevant sectors for the cooperation and business friendly environment provided him since his stay in the country.
For their parts, the LCAA Boss, Moses Y. Kollie and the LNP Inspector General, Col. Patrick Sudue expressed their happiness to form part of what they described as a dream comes true for the country and its citizenry.
Mr. Kollie further confirmed that Ecoworld, prior to their coming to the country went through all of the necessary screenings and met all of the requirements needed to begin operation in Liberia, and therefore have been declared qualified to ensure the safe travel by air of passengers to their various destinations.
