DSA Target First League Qualification

Discovery Sports Academy (DSA) are aiming for qualification to the National First Division league at the end of the ongoing campaign, as they lead the Liberia Football Association national male competition in goals this season.
The lads are celebrating their debut season in the Liberian National Second Division League with many admirers, and have scored a total of 56 goals, the highest to be scored by a single club in the national league records of the football association for the 2023/2024 league season.
DSA, in their last two matches, transitioned from lower position and joined the title contention zone as the new member of the top three category, behind the league leaders, Black Man Warrior and Shaita Football Clubs.
During a brief conversation with the team’s head coach, Akin Z. Baryogar, alias Coach Alvero, he said DSA are firm and interested in winning the second div. league with what he called an incredible record this season.
Coach Alvero maintained that Discoveries are a goal scoring team from their establishment in the Liberian football environment, and will remain in form for the rest of the league because all of the players are motivated to gain promotion to the national topflight and the campaign to achieve such promotion is his team’s focus point.
According him, the success of the highest goals scored and moving in the upper category of the league table is the momentum developed by the ‘Legacy Boys’ during the 2023 National Promotional Playoff, where the team won taking nearly all individual awards.
He explained that after the playoff, the team developed a focused mind and objective that they are going to play at the level of the national league and win the second league title to etch their name in Liberian football history.
The tactician furthered that the winning mentality expressed in the team after the first phase of the national league led the team to include new faces and give players their proper roles and responsibility to coordinate in the best way for the result needed by their fans and administration.
“During the first phase, we struggled and worked to have our problems solved, that is why we are now in the real race. We included some new faces and had some good pairings in different roles, that is why the team is in the best of its form since the second and final phase got underway,” he asserted.
Akin Baryorgar added that there is nothing impossible in the belief of the team, and they are prepared to participate in the topflight next season. According to him, the upcoming weekend is going to be a confirmation of their promotion to the first league because of the fixture with Black Man Warrior.
“We have nine more games to end the season. At DSA, we engage every remaining game as a final and will not hesitate to collect the points we need to get to our qualification,” he said, rallying fans of the club to continue the pattern of support given the team all through the year.
