Down Town FC Begins LFA Third Division Playoff With 2-0 Victory

Down Town FC over the weekend begins the Liberia Football Association (LFA) third division playoff with a 2-0 triumph over Adidas Young Star at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).
Down Town FC two goals came in the 55th and 79th minutes respectively through strikers Isaac Paintsi and Jacob G. Henneh finishing torches after both strikers have missed several scoring chances especially in the first half of the game.
Coach Jasper Kun described his team 2-0 victory as a total challenge for his players as they continue their struggle for the championship title of the LFA third division playoff.
Coach highlighted that his side could have score more goals against their opponent especially in the first half of the game if members of his forward line could have put into better use the majority of the scoring chances they have against their opponents.
Said Coach Kun: “I blamed members of my team forward line failure to put into better use the majority of the scoring chances they have against their opponents especially in the first half of the game for scoring only two goals against our opponents but I hope they recover from their mistakes made in today game so that they can deliver the necessary game result against our opponents in our next games to come.”
Down Town FC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pokar Robert thanks Coach Kun, members of his team technical staff and the players for the victory but he also buttressed the team coach called to the layers to recover from their mistakes made in their just ended 2-0 victory against Adidas Young Star.
Coach Williams Franciah of the losing side Adidas Young Star FC attributed his side defeat to his player’s failure to properly engage their opponents on the ball especially in the area of their finishing touches but called on them to learn from their past blunders if they are to advance further in the competition.
In the day’s opening game, Sadaya International FC defeated Lisali FC 2-0 and an officials of the team Mr. William Boima described their win as a positive step forward for the team as they continue their fight for the third division playoff title race but called on the athletes to keep on winning so that they could finish the league as a second division team.
