Disputed Land Owners Await Weah’s Arrival In Nimba

Fred Suah, one of the owners in the Dumba Field land dispute in Ganta City says they are awaiting the arrival of President George Manneh Weah to settle the long awaited land dispute in the county.
Speaking to this paper in Ganta, Fred Suah is blaming the presidential land committee members for allegedly taking side with the Mandingo ethnic group by not informing or providing his side a copy of the investigation report concerning the disputed land situated in the Dumba Field Community which they are also a party to.
The Suah, Dunzo and Jabarteh families are all claiming ownership of the Dumba Field parcel of land which led to serious destruction of properties for which a presidential land committee was set up to investigate the case in three months and report findings to President Weah.
Since the appointment of the presidential land committee to investigate within the timeframe, the committee’s outcome has not been made public least to speak of furnishing the parties involved with its finding thereby creating suspicion among the concerned parties.
Speaking at a local radio recently, Fred Suah now perceives that because the presidential land committee is dominated by Mandingos, the Muslim solidarity has overshadowed the few Christians on the committees thereby harboring tribal fear.
The spokesperson of the Muslims, Mike Jabateh said they too are awaiting the President in Nimba to address the issues.
President Weah’s pending visit to the county is apparently a heap of coal on the backs of the land committee as it has failed miserably to report within the given timeframe as the committee’s three months investigation has turned into a one year-two months exercise.
President Weah has scheduled a cabinet retreat in that part of the County which was expected to kick off on yesterday but was postponed for obvious unexplained reasons after the much publicity however, the Liberian leader is expected in Nimba on Saturday to inspect ongoing projects which were also part of his agenda while in the county.
