The National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), with support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has identified with fire victims by donating 100 bags of 25kg rice.
The terrible disaster, which occurred on the 29th of August, at the 1940 community Arthington, left three persons dead and one person in a critical condition.
The victims who didn’t survive the accident include a one year old child, two year old child, and a four year old child, with the survivor being a 17 year old handicapped girl.
Sympathizing with the bereaved family, the Executive Director for NDMA, Henry O. Williams, said that the incident was so terrible that they had to attend to it urgently.
According to him, the Government is concerned about the well-being of the citizens and even though the food that was donated to them will not bring back the lost, but at least they have come to sympathize with them.
He added that the situation is very pitiful and prayed that God console the family, including the survivor.
“As the house has burned down to ashes, it can be rebuilt, but the children might not be reborn because no one might know the parents’ health condition when it comes to giving birth to another child,” he said.
“This little we have brought, we hope that you people manage it as time goes by; if there are more things to bring, we will also bring them to you,” he said.
The NDMA boss maintained that the government really cares about such conditions, which is why they have gone to identify with them, even though they had to pass through lots of difficulties before getting to them.
For her part, the mother of the deceased, Nowah Mulbah, expressed her gratitude to NDMA and the government at large, for remembering them in this kind of situation.
According to her, she was at her selling place when she heard that the fire had gutted her house; upon arrival, the three children were already dead, but the handicapped girl managed to drag herself out of the fire.
She added that she doesn’t even know where to start from because losing that amount of children is not an easy task for her to bear.
“No one can question the work of the Lord, if it’s God’s doing then let his will be done, and I pray that I will be able to overcome this trauma,” she wept.
She explained that the kitchen they normally cook in has been destroyed, so they decided to start cooking in the house, adding that she doesn’t know the actual cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, she’s also requesting that the government assist in rebuilding the house, because she built the house from her petty business she is involved into.
