Dire Accident On Buchanan Highway Again

Several people are feared dead with dozen others injured in a tragic motor accident involving a green taxi and red trailer truck identified as power cement, after the St John bridge on Buchanan Highway.
According to eyewitness, one vehicle was headed towards the Buchanan City while the other towards Monrovia leaving two persons unconscious and were taken to the Liberia Government Hospital in an ambulance.
According to the doctor’s report from the Liberia Government Hospital, six persons were confirmed dead which includes a baby while two persons are currently undergoing treatment.
According to eye witnesses, the green taxi came from Buchanan City in Grand Bassa County with excessive speed en route to Monrovia driven by an individual only identified as Abel, three males, two females and a baby, while the truck also on excessive speed from Monrovia to Buchanan City but with only two passengers.
“Both of them were on excessive speed and ran into one another, the six people in the taxi got badly affected, while they were only two in the truck and no one got wounded; the two individuals got down from the truck and started running before people could get on the scene,” the eyewitnesses explained.
According to Joshua Wesseh, the green taxi was on excessive speed and tried overtaking our car, in no time, after crossing the St John Bridge the driver of our car parked and allowed the taxi driver to pass by us, and the truck was also on excessive speed coming, within a twinkle of an eye the two cars collapsed.”
“The lifeless body of a baby fell from the taxi, and was laying down in the grass, another lady who was sitting in the back seat of the car managed to get out of the car alive and the taxi was carrying gari bag, red oil gallon, chicken and other belongings,” Wesseh said.
Samuel Davis, an eyewitness said, when the truck passed by the market, people started shouting that the truck driver was running too much, within no time, they heard the sound indicating that something terrible had happened and that brought sorrow to the people of St John Community, immediately.
