Montserrado County Senator, Abraham Darius Dillon, says in addition to the Senate’s decision to call for the compulsory restructuring of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) before approving the printing of new money, he will not vote to grant the Executive’s permission to print new banknote except, Finance Minister, Samuel Tweah resigns or is relieved.
Addressing legislative reporters following the first day of an extra-ordinary session yesterday, Senator Dillon said, Minister Tweah needs to be dismissed because he presided over the US$25 million that was reportedly misused by the Presidential Technical Economic Management Team spearheaded by himself.
Dillon, who stated that his additional opinion is being corroborated with by scores of opposition senators said, it was under Minister Tweah’s watch that the L$16 billion were printed, cleared under President George Weah’s administration and same was impugned. 
He wondered why would the Executive want the Liberia Senate to approve the printing of additional new money when there has been no structural reform carried out at the CBL since the last money was printed which should have propelled the Senate’s approval.
Meanwhile, Senator Dillon said, the President’s letter requesting the Legislature to return for session makes no sense even though they had to return as a matter of requirement by Article 32 (b) of the Liberian Constitution in terms of emergency but, if those bills submitted before plenary yesterday were all of the bills for which they had to resume session, then there are no pertinent issues.
Meanwhile, Dillon also used the gathering to dismiss reports circulating in the media that the government sponsored him and his Chief of Office travel to the United States of America.
He described the report as false and misleading, clarifying that his trip was sponsored by the Friends of Darius Dillon in the United States and intended to solicit funds to support disadvantage Liberians call zogos, a project he had launched as part of his plans for Montserrado County.
