Diaspora Liberian Asserts

The Chief Executive Officer of the United Nation of Yisrael (UNY), Shamayah S. Yasharahla, made a firm commitment to transform Liberia into a land of return for all Liberians residing in the diaspora.
With a shared vision of unity, prosperity, and progress, Mr. Yasharahla, who was one of the recipients of the Golden Image Awards, recently and currently residing in the United States of America, is also determined to contribute his skills, experiences, and resources towards making Liberia an attractive destination for all its citizens.


Liberia, a West African nation that has witnessed its fair share of challenges in recent times, is now on the cusp of a transformative journey.
Many diaspora Liberians, who have established themselves across the globe, are eager to play a pivotal role in helping their homeland overcome obstacles and embrace a brighter future, with many believing that their commitment stems from a deep love for Liberia and a strong desire to rebuild the nation where all Liberians can thrive.
Mr. Yasharahla said he understands the importance of preserving Liberia’s rich cultural heritage and traditions, owing to the fact that Culture forms the bedrock of any nation, connecting its people to their heritage and fostering a sense of national identity.
He pledged to work with the country’s Traditional Council, headed by Chief Zanzan Karwor, to preserve and celebrate Liberian culture through festivals, art exhibitions, and cultural exchange activities.
He added that by promoting Liberia’s cultural tourism and investing in cultural infrastructure, Liberia can not only boost its economy but also strengthen its national pride and unity.
Recognizing the immense talent and potential of Liberians living abroad, the UNY CEO stressed the need to promote dialogue, cultural exchange programs, and establishing networks to create a solid foundation for partnership and the exchange of ideas between the diaspora and local communities.
One of the key areas Mr. Yasharahla and team said is keen to Liberia’s planned growth, is infrastructure development, as a result of understanding the pivotal role that infrastructure plays in stimulating economic growth and improving the quality of life.
By investing their expertise and financial resources, the UNY team also said it is important for Liberians and the government to create an enabling environment that attracts both domestic and foreign investments.
He furthered that through entrepreneurship, mentorship programs, and vocational training, they aim to promote job creation and empower local communities, noting that by encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, Liberia can diversify its economic landscape, reduce dependence on external aid, and create sustainable development opportunities for all Liberians.
Recognizing that education and skills are fundamental pillars for national development, Yasharahla and team are also eager to see the building of a robust educational system, and added that by empowering the youth and providing them with access to quality education, Liberia can nurture a generation of skilled professionals who will become the driving force behind the nation’s progress.
He thanked all Liberians for the warn welcome received upon his return to the country for the first time, and at the same time, called on President George M. Weah to remain steadfast and focused on driving the country’s developmental agenda for all Liberians, both at home and in the diaspora.
