Multiple sources are confirming that Hammarby 18-year-old Liberian Midfielder Divine Teah has completed all negotiations and talks plus medical to Move to Slavia Praha at the end of the Sweden league season.
It is said, that after the completion of the Swedish season, Teah will have some time off and later join Slavia during the winter break.
The 2024 Allsvenskan is expected to end on November 10.
According Swedish leading Sports Website: Sportbladet, the youngster, whose move has made headlines across European football, completed his medical examination in Prague over the weekend and was present to witness Slavia’s 3–0 victory over Dukla Prague.
In joining Slavia Prague, Teah will team up with Liberia’s national team captain, Oscar Dorley, who has established himself as a key player for the Czech club.
This connection with Dorley will provide a familiar face for Teah as he settles into the new environment, and it represents a proud moment for Liberian football to see two of its own at a top European club.
Hammarby has reached an agreement with Slavia Prague on a transfer fee of 3.5 million euros (approximately SEK 39 million).
Additionally, the deal includes a lucrative bonus package totaling up to 900,000 euros.
This package includes 600,000 euros in achievable team bonuses, contingent on Slavia’s qualification for the European Games next season, regardless of Teah’s playtime.
The rest of the bonuses are based on personal performance, meaning Teah’s success on the field could push the overall value of the transfer close to SEK 50 million.
Divine Teah joined Hammarby from Liberia’s Nimba FC for 120,000 dollars, along with a performance-based bonus.
However, since he only played seven matches with the Swedish side, these bonuses never came into play.
Notably, Nimba FC will receive a percentage of the transfer fee, though the exact amount remains undisclosed.
In the wake of the Teah’s transfer, it has also been established that the Czech club is interestingly working on the signing of Heaven Eleven young forward William Gibson to boost up the squad.
According to sources both in the Liberian football setting and foreign sports environment, the forward who is just 16 years old is been engaged to join the club with a long-term profession contract when he reaches 18 years of age.
As it stands, Slavia Prague seems attracted to giving Liberian talents the opportunity to participate in the Czech league to explore their talents while making name for the club.
In the coming years it is hopeful that a good number of Liberians could be seen playing professional football in the European continent.
It is also reported that the captain of the Lone Star Senior men’s national team Oscar Dolley is the one leading the efforts for other Liberians to be called to the international stage.
According to sources, top clubs have considered Dolley’s dedication as a working that needs to be captured along with other prospects that are affiliated to him and his native land.
