Liberian Upper Women’s Division champions, Determine Girls, have strengthened their squad by signing Guinean goalkeeper Djaka Cherif Haidara on a two-season deal. Haidara joins from AS Mandé, the reigning Malian Women’s League champions.
The 24-year-old shot-stopper gained widespread attention following her standout performances in the recently concluded WAFU Zone A CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in Sierra Leone, where she was named Best Goalkeeper of the tournament. Her composure, quick reflexes, and commanding presence in goal made her a key figure in the competition, earning her widespread praise.
Haidara’s arrival is expected to bolster Determine Girls’ defense, as the club prepares for the 2024/2025 LFA Super Women Super Cup and the upcoming Upper Women’s League season. With her proven track record, the young goalkeeper is seen as a valuable asset to the team’s ambitions.
During her time with AS Mandé, Haidara was instrumental in securing two major trophies: the Malian Women’s League title and the Malian FA Cup. She has also represented Guinea at both senior and youth levels, further solidifying her reputation as one of Africa’s most exciting young goalkeepers.
With her impressive form and leadership on the field, Haidara is expected to bring stability and success to Determine Girls as they aim for more silverware in the coming seasons.
