Liberia’s women upper league champions Determine Girls Football Club over the weekend stated the 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Champions league qualifiers with a 2-1 supremacy over Gambian side Red Scorpions.
The girls secured themselves an impressive first half win against their counterpart in Bo City at the Southern Arena in Sierra Leone to put smiles on the faces of the team’s officials that traveled to cheer and motivate the country’s lone women inter club representatives.
It was at a clock 28 minutes that Liberians stood in the stands screaming goal in celebration of an excellent strike delivered by Mbassey Darboe at the back of the net to find the curtain raiser in the LFA women champions.
At the 34th minute, the former women Liberian women league most valuable player, Bintou Sylla, added her name to the score sheet extending their lead by two goals that took them to victory in the opening encounter.
The Red Scorpions in the stoppage time before the end of the first half fought to have a reversal in the score but were only able to have one cancellation and decided the score line for the entire regular match time.
Defensive midfielder Kaddy Jatta’s power strike from meters across the penalty area resulted to the lone goal scored by Red Scorpions.
