Defending champions Determine Girls Football Club reaffirmed their dominance in Liberian women’s football with a commanding 3-1 victory over Senior Pro FC at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports complex Practice Pitch on Tuesday.
The star of the show was striker Mabinty Camara, who delivered a spectacular hat trick, leading her team to an emphatic win. Camara’s clinical finishing and attacking prowess were on full display as Determine Girls outclassed their opponents with superior skill and teamwork.
Despite their struggles, Senior Pro managed to pull one goal back through Bendu Yantay, but it was not enough to overturn the deficit. The loss leaves the Professionals in a difficult position as the season progresses.
In another fiercely contested match at the Tusa Field Sports Pitch, World Girls Football Club secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ambassadors Football Club.
The Iron Ladies struck first through a well-placed goal by Marion Brown, setting the tone for the encounter. Their lead was soon doubled when Hawa Fatomah found the back of the net, giving World Girls a comfortable cushion.
Ambassadors FC fought back and managed to pull one goal back, but their efforts fell short, leaving them still struggling in the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, at the Northstar Sports Pitch, Earth Angels FC emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Ravia Angels in a tense battle.
Striker Tetee Doe put Earth Angels ahead with a brilliant goal, while her teammate R. Wiefu doubled their advantage to tighten their grip on the match.
Ravia Angels found a late response through Amada Fahn, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal as they failed to equalize before the final whistle.
A standout performance came from Earth Angels’ goalkeeper Ambali Sekinah Abiola, who made several crucial saves to deny Ravia Angels and secure the three points for her team.
With this latest victory, Determine Girls FC continues to assert their dominance at the top of the Liberian Women’s Football League standings. Their attacking strength, led by Camara and solid team coordination make them the team to beat this season.
As the competition intensifies, teams in the relegation zone, such as Ambassadors FC and Senior Pro FC, will need to improve their performances if they are to avoid dropping out of the league.
Women’s football in Liberia continues to grow in excitement, with every match showcasing the talent, determination, and passion of the players. Fans can expect more thrilling encounters as the league unfolds.
