The Deputy Minister for Children and Social Protection, Garmai Tokpah, a recent recipient of the Golden Image Award, has applauded the conveners of this year’s event, the Golden Image Awards (GIA).
The event, held at the Monrovia City Hall, celebrated individuals and organizations making significant contributions to Liberia’s social, economic, and cultural landscape.
Deputy Minister Tokpah, known for her relentless advocacy for social protection, welfare programs and the empowerment of women and children, received the award in recognition of her outstanding work and dedication.
In an interview with journalists, Minister Tokpah also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the conveners of the Golden Image Awards for recognizing her efforts and many others who tirelessly worked to create a better Liberia.
“This award is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the collective efforts of countless individuals and organizations committed to uplifting our society. I am deeply humbled and honored to be recognized among such a distinguished group of honorees,” she noted.
She highlighted the importance of community collaboration and the collective pursuit of progress, saying, “Our journey towards a more equitable and prosperous Liberia requires the combined efforts of every citizen.”
“It is through events like the Golden Image Awards that we are reminded of the power of unity and shared vision because it has serves as a beacon of hope and motivation for all of us. They encouraged us to strive for excellence in our respective fields and to remain steadfast in our commitment to service and development,” she intoned.
Madam Tokpah also applauded the organizers for their unwavering commitment to celebrating excellence and fostering a culture of recognition and appreciation in Liberia, noting that such acknowledgments inspire individuals and organizations to continue their impactful work, driving positive change across the nation.
Deputy Minister Tokpah then reiterated her dedication to the cause of gender equality and social protection, and added, “This award renews my resolve to continue advocating for the rights and well-being of women and children in Liberia. Together, we can build a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”
Meanwhile, the ceremony, attended by a cross-section of dignitaries, civil society representatives, and international guests, was a night of celebration and reflection, as the award recipients, including Madam Tokpah, were celebrated for their remarkable contributions in various sectors, from education and healthcare to social justice and economic development.
