DEO Warns Against Sex, Cash For Grades

Bain-Garr District Education Officer, Abel Legay, says many teachers are misusing their profession to sell grades for sex or cash to students which is a very frustrating and disgraceful practice in the district. However, DEO Legay warned that any teacher caught in such act will be punished in line with the Ministry of Education Teacher’s Code of Conduct in the country.
Speaking to the Inquirer Newspaper over the weekend, Legay explained that Bain-Garr is divided into two education districts and each district has its own education officer responsible to supervise schools operation.
He said District # 1 contains 30 public schools, with five being senior high schools that are catering to school going children and reported that the faith-based schools and private schools that were operating without permits from MOE are now responding by obtaining their registration from the LRA in the district.
