The Standard Bearer of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), Alexander B. Cummings has vowed to be President for all Liberians irrespective of one political affiliation if given the Liberian presidency in the 2023 General Elections.
The Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) is a conglomeration of two opposition political parties namely the Alternative National Congress (ANC), and the Liberty Party (LP) headed by its chairman, Musa Hassan Billity.
Mr. Cummings who is also the political leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) assured his supporters of being the best and suitable person to reconcile and unite Liberia following its history of bitterness and political differences.
He was speaking over the weekend, at the Doe Community Football Field in Doe Community outside Monrovia, after his presidential bid received another massive boost following the endorsement from four Grebo-speaking counties under the banner “Grebo United for Cummings 2023.”
The four counties include Sinoe, Grand Kru, Maryland and River Gee, as it is of no secret that the opposition community is exploring all avenue intended to unseat President George M. Weah during the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections over his handling of the country.
According to him, Liberia is too rich for its citizenry to be poor and be a laughing stock, and as such, there is an urgent need for Liberians to make the right decision in 2023 by electing a president who is capable of governing and reconciling the country.
He added, “That is why I am counting on all your support to ensure that we win this election because my team and I are ready to change this country to ensure that we bring changes to the southeast and other parts of Liberia.”
“I say to you today my fellow Grebo people, we will change and bring tourism to Maryland, and invest in the port of harper, Greenville as well as make Tubman University a great institution, and we are ready to change Liberia because you the Grebo people are ready to support your son,” Cummings maintained.
He further stated, “Again, we are counting on you and all Liberians to redeem and restore our country’s lost image. I want you all to know that we are a family and so we will embrace all Liberians who want to work and help change this country for the common good of all.”
Earlier reading the petition statement on behalf of the four counties, the group’s steering committee chairman, Pastor Peter T. Gbarbo assured Mr. Cummings and team of their readiness, resolve and preparedness to ensure his victory, come 2023.
The group stressed, “Mr. Cummings and Liberians, we the Grebo people are ready, resolved and prepared to go the extra mile in working with you until you achieve this worthy cause to revive, redeem and set our nation on a new pedestal of genuine economic growth, development and prosperity.”
“So we Grebo people both in Montserrado and from various counties of origin, we do hereby pledge our commitment and would like to declare our ardent, unflinching and unbending support and endorse you Mr. Cummings and your presidential ambition for2023,” the group pledged.
According to them, their decision to support Mr. Cummings and team is because he (Cummings) is a son of the Grebo tribe and a Manager, Administrator and a leader who is well able, qualified and up to the task to administer the affairs of Liberia.
Meanwhile, the group has at the same time also vowed to embark on a county tour of the four counties to further mobilize their compatriots to consolidate their resolve in making Mr. Cummings and the CPP president of Liberia come 2023.
