CU To Graduates 765 This Weekend

The Cuttington University’s main campus in Suakoko, Bong County comes live with the University’s 2024 commencement convocation.

According to the Vice president for Institutional Advancement, Advertus Orea Wright, the University will on June 15, 2024 graduate 765 students from its three campuses in the country.

The Cuttington University’s Vice president for Institutional Advancement said 72 students will be graduating from the University Junior College in Kakata, Margibi County, while 325 from the undergraduate Program in Suakoko, 320 from the School of Graduate and Professional Studies in Monrovia.

He said 48 students will be obtaining Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDF) and Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation (PGDME).

Mr. Wright disclosed that those students who will be conferred or awarded degrees by Cuttington University in distinct academic disciplines are students who have been academically examined and have satisfactorily gone through the ranks and files of the University’s academic curricular activities in line with the best international academic standards and practices.

He further noted that as part of Cuttington University’s mission to produce more qualified and knowledgeable professionals in different specialized studies, the institution remains committed to providing quality educational services and fostering a 21st Global Century of education in the Country.

“This year’s commencement is associated with major events that have beautified the entire commencement convocation. The activities started with the Herbert and Marion Donovan College of Allied Health Sciences Tea Party followed by the President’s Traditional Tea Party or Gola, while the Baccalaureate Service was held on the University’s main Campus on June 9, 2024,” Mr. Wright revealed.

This year’s Commencement Convocation is under the watchful eyes of H.E Dr. Romelle A. Horton, the first female President of Cuttington University.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wright revealed that the African Development Bank Country Representative to Liberia, Benedict Sorie Kanu, will serve as keynote speaker at the University’s 62nd commencement convocation.

According to Mr. Wright, this remarkable occasion is expected to be honored by the chairman and members of the Board of Trustees of Cuttington University, faculty and staff of the University, the Chief Justice, Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh, Vice President Jeremiah Kung, high-profile Government officials, and members of the Bong County Legislative Caucus, parents and guardians, families and friends of the graduates.    

Cuttington University is a private university in Suacoco; founded in 1889 as Cuttington College by the Episcopal Church of the United States (ECUSA), it is the oldest private, coeducational, undergraduate, and degree-granting institution in sub-Saharan Africa.

It has immensely contributed to the human capital development of the country and has produced notable alumni who have served and continue to serve the country and humanity for years.
