Momentum seems to be building across Montserrado County, intended to bring together Liberians under the banner of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) Victory Rally, slated for October 1, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.
CPP stalwarts said a record crowd of tens of thousands of partisans, supporters, sympathizers, and well-wishers are expected to jam pack and overflow the ATS in support and solidarity for the Presidential bid of Alexander B. Cummings.
The CPP, comprising the Alternative National Congress (ANC) and the Liberty Party (LP) of the late Counsellor Charles Brumskine, is said to be the biggest opposition political bloc which intends to wrestle state power from the inept administration of President George Weah, whose six-year rule has been dubbed as the “worst in Liberian history.”
Massive preparation is underway by the various CPP campaign committees, auxiliaries, and support groups, including women and student groups, market women and civil servants who feel abandoned and disgruntled over Weah’s government’s harmonization of their salaries.
They are rallying thousands others to join in support of the rally on October 1.
Several CPP partisans and supporters have expressed great excitement and optimism about the expected turnout for the pre-victory rally, taking place nine days ahead of the October 10 General and Presidential Elections.
The CPP Victory Rally will be led by its Standard Bearer, Cummings, and his Vice Standard Bearer, Counsellor Charlyne Brumskine, who are also excited about the successful outcome of the Rally, set to propel them to power on October 10.
