Liberia has been described in the Sub-region as a drug-zoom country due to it porosity of entrances.
Evidence to that, the Government of Liberia recently nabbed drugs worth US$100,000 but up to now, investigation into that drug seizure saga and its whereabouts since the confiscation is unknown yet the LDEA operates and is highly appreciated among government agencies.
The trend of deaths widely reported in all corners and communities especially of in Liberia nowadays are results of those who die from taking in all kinds of harmful substances including a new kind of drug called “Cough” that is reported to have sprouted from neighboring Sierra Lone.
Just at the weekend, on Friday to be exact, a 16-year-old boy died as result of Cough in Central Matadi, Fanti Town Community and according to report; the minor who is said to be novice to this strange drug death news came as a shock the community including his mother.
But, explaining his experience to this paper, a Zogo identified as ‘Harris’ admitted that ‘Couch’ is bad and it is known to be the fastest killing drug substances among all the other substances and stated clearly, “Government has work to do because ‘Couch’ is being marketed to students, commercial drivers, kehkeh drivers, etc all on the streets.”
“They have ‘Couch’ and trauma-dol but when you take in the ‘Cough’ it kills massively because when you take it in, it has a way of controlling you. For instance, if you were to take in it, it will make you like you clamp-up a five story building that looks closer to you and someone is telling you to jump down, and when you try it, it’s the end of their lives,” Harris explained.
‘Couch’, is sometimes referred to as the “Devil Face” and whenever it is consumed by an individual, they said that person will say he /she wants see the Devil Face.
