The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Magdalene Dagoseh, has donated essential food supplies and cash to the Grand Bassa Muslim Council in Buchanan.
The donation, aimed at easing the burden on the local Muslim community, included 30 bags of rice, 50 cartons of chicken and fish, 50 sacks of water and soft drinks, and a cash contribution of L$50,000.
The official handover ceremony took place during the weekend, where Minister Dagoseh expressed her commitment to supporting communities across Liberia.
She emphasized the importance of solidarity and national unity.
“This donation is a small gesture to show our collective responsibility in caring for one another,” Minister Dagoseh stated. “We must continue to support and uplift our communities, regardless of background or faith, as we build a stronger Liberia together.”
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Muslim community, Iman Ayeba Kamara, expressed profound gratitude, highlighting the timely nature of the assistance.
“On behalf of the Grand Bassa Muslim Council, I extend our heartfelt thanks to Minister Dagoseh for her generosity. This support will greatly benefit our community, especially during these difficult times,” Iman Kamara said.
The donation comes as many families in Grand Bassa struggle with economic hardships, making access to basic necessities increasingly difficult. The food items and beverages are expected to provide immediate relief, while the cash donation will support the council’s ongoing programs and community initiatives.
Iman Kamara also used the opportunity to call on other leaders and well-meaning individuals to follow Minister Dagoseh’s example, stressing the importance of collective efforts in addressing societal challenges.
Minister Dagoseh’s outreach reflects a broader push for inclusivity and community-driven development in Liberia. As Grand Bassa looks toward a more stable and prosperous future, acts of generosity such as this reinforce the values of unity, compassion, and shared progress.
