College Of Health Sciences Graduates 36

The Lutheran University of Liberia, Phebe-Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences Tuesday, April 30, 2024, graduated 36 students from its Diploma and Undergraduate programs in Gbarnga, Bong County.
The graduates obtained diplomas and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Professional Nursing, Midwifery, and Anesthesia.
At the graduation exercise, 16 students were conferred with Bachelor of Science degrees in Anesthesia, while 3 nurses and 17 midwifery students obtained diplomas.
Serving as commencement speaker, the Director General of the National Commission on Education, Edward Lama Wonkeryor, encouraged the graduates to embrace new challenges and meet them with strength and courage as they leave the institution and enter the university of the universe.
Wonkeryor also urged the students to use the knowledge and skills they’ve gained over the years to make a lasting positive impact on the people around them, and Liberia at large.
He further cautioned them to be the change they want to see in the world, and always strive to make a difference in the lives of others.
The NCHE’s General Director, at same time, used to opportunity to thank the Lutheran Church in Liberia and the administration of Phebe-Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences for elevating the college to a degree-granting institution, but urged them to be creative and innovative by reaching out for international partnerships and designing more new and relevant programs that would provide solutions to our social problems and enhance national development.
The graduation exercise marked the end of the diploma programs that have made professional nurses, midwives, laboratory technicians and nurse anesthetists, who are currently contributing to the health care delivery system of Liberia.
Humphrey Loweae, the Dean of the Phebe-Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences, now the Lutheran University of Liberia, said, moving forward, the institution will no longer be in the business of offering diploma programs, instead, Bachelor’s degrees in several disciplines with specific focus on the College of Health Sciences.
He emphasized that candidates whom BSc Degrees were conferred on during the commencement convocation, are considered the 1st graduates of the Lutheran University of Liberia.
Phebe-Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences is a Christian institution that is committed to educating and training health professionals to be dedicated in serving mankind, regardless of race, religion, culture, and economic backgrounds.
