Coach Tarr To Feature In County Meet For Gbarpolu

The Gbarpolu County Sports Steering Committee has expressed excitement announcing the appointment of Stephen G. Tarr as the new Head Coach of the county football team as programs of preparations open for the 22024/2024 National County Sports Meet kickoff.
As part of the preparation activities, Gbarpolu County will launch the District Justification Tournament this Thursday, November 7, 2024, where Coach Tarr is charged to lead the efforts of the team in representing Gbarpolu at the upcoming National County Sports Meet.
According to officials of the county sports steering committee, Tarr emerged as the leading candidate from a competitive pool of applicants, demonstrating exceptional qualifications throughout a rigorous selection process.
Currently, he serves as the Head Coach of Discoveries Sports Academy (DSA), one of the best performing newly promoted first division teams in the Liberia Football Association (LFA) national football league.
As per the record, coach Tarr is celebrated as the 2018/2019 Head coach of Bomi County who led the team to their last victorious county meet championship. His expertise was at topnotch that season winning the competition.
Authorities at Gbarpolu steering committee said, his dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence have earned him widespread respect within the sports community making him their best choice for the season.
Coach Tarr holds coaching licenses, including License B and License C from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), along with License D from the Liberia Football Association (LFA).
In his new role, he will focus on recruiting, selecting, and training top talent, instilling a winning mentality to enhance the team’s overall performance.
Others appointed along side coach Tarr to push for the task of winning the upcoming county meet are Mohammed Folley Assistant Coach, Alexander S. Quaqua Technical Director, and Solomon Freeman as Trainer.
The County has at the same time appointed P. Moses Karr as Head Coach and Lewis B. Jerry as Assistant Coach of Gbarpulu County kickball team.
Meanwhile, the Gbarpolu County Sports Steering Committee urges all fans, citizens, and residents both within and outside of the county to rally behind Coach Tarr and the technical teams as they embark on this exciting journey.
The committee crave for the unwavering support of the citizens noting that it is crucial as they strive for success in the District Justification Tournament and aim for glory in the National County Sports Meet.
This year’s December, Gbarpolu County will travel to the South East for the nation’s biggest sporting festival as a member of Group C. This group consisting of Lofa and River Cess will be hosted by Sinoe County in Greenville City.
