Coach Selam Kebede Unveils Women Team Squad For Upcoming WAFU

In preparation for the upcoming West African Football Union Zone ‘A’ Women’s Tournament in Mauritania this May, Liberia’s Senior Women’s National Football Team has officially announced its 28-player squad. The announcement comes as the team gears up for the competition, which will serve as an important test for the nation’s rising football stars.
The squad, handpicked by head coach Selam Kebede, includes a mix of seasoned veterans and promising young players, reflecting the country’s growing commitment to the development of women’s football. The team will begin its training on April 1, 2025, at the Samuel Kayon Doe Sports Complex, marking the start of a rigorous preparation period ahead of the May tournament.
A standout feature of this year’s squad is the inclusion of two key players, Maya Neal and Mimi Janice Eiden, who are currently based in the United States. Their experience abroad is expected to provide valuable leadership and boost the squad’s technical capabilities on the international stage.
The team’s 28-player roster includes a strong balance across all positions, with experienced goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards all preparing for action. Notably, the squad showcases a well-rounded combination of defensive solidity and attacking flair, aligning with the technical priorities emphasized by the Liberia Football Association (LFA).

The defenders include Lucy Massaquoi, Aline J. Capehart, Sangay Moulton, Diamond Dahn, Esther Massaley, Margret Stewart, Ditta Langama, Francisca T. Howe, Choice Tokpah and Maya Neal.
In midfield Louise Brown, Hawa W. Kpan, Hawa Fatomah, Christine D. Kouadio, Princess Bogar, Bendu Yantay, Jessica Quachie, Wonder H. Juery and Musu Kamara were all named in the squad.
Lucy Kikeh, Miatta Morris, Delphine G. Glao, Makasian Sayon, Mimi Janice Eiden and Cynthia Weah complete the squad in the category of forwards.
