Counselor Johnny Momoh of the Johnny Momoh and Associates Law Firm was yesterday arrested and arraigned before the Brewerville Magisterial Court in Electoral District 17, Montserrado County, for the alleged commission of the crimes of ‘domestic violence felonious restrain, criminal coercion.’
Unlike the others who are accused alongside Momoh and Emmanuel Pannoh and are yet to be identified, the both men appeared in court and were placed on the prisoners’ bench.
Momoh, Pannoh, and their accomplices yet to be identified are expected to answer to the charges which are in violation of Sections 16.20, 14 .27, 14.51 of the new Penal Code of Liberia.
The writ against Momoh and his co-defendants was a result of the defendant’s eight years old collapsed relationship with Madam Marie Nallon.
The writ dated Saturday, April 8, 2023, stated that at 8A.M, in the city of Virginia, outside Monrovia, the within named defendants without any color of rights whatsoever proceeded to the house where the couple lived with over 10 persons and without the fear of God and the laws of Liberia, ordered all occupants ousted along with the private prosecutrix’s personal belongings.
According to the complainant, her suits cases containing wearing and other assorted materials to include all her jewelries value at US$500, 000 as well as cash amounting to US$75, 385 plus L$80, 000 were all thrown out.
Others aspects of her personal effects that got missing were her personal business money which was intended to travel with to China summing the grand total of US$575, 385.
That defendants not still satisfied by their action, unlawfully restraint the private prosecutrix from entering into their dwelling premise.
That the act of the you defendants has caused an emotional psychological abused and also ecumenical abused, that the private prosecutrix will not have access to the property, and she must vacate from the premises.
The case file said defendant Momoh with his co-conspirators without any fears of the laws willfully, accused the private prosecutrix of being a criminal.
But the reason for both the complainant and defendant’s confusion is yet to be established. However, according to sources, it started because of the defendant’s alleged “extra relationship”.
While together, according to the report, both jointly constructed a structure which allegedly cost US$400, 000 of which the complainant is said to have contributed US$90, 000.
But surprisingly, she was informed by gossipers that the land on which the house is being constructed is in the name of the defendant’s son and not himself thereby bringing mental anguished to the complainant.
Nevertheless, the complainant then single-handedly constructed her owned house on another land purchased in her name.
While living together in the complainant’s rented house and not on terms, the report said both separated their sleeping room.
Not until few days ago, the report said while the complainant was out door in preparation of traveling to China on a business trip, defendant Momoh allegedly ordered some men who broke into the complainant’s room.
As a result, the report said the complainant room was allegedly ransacked and her belongings were allegedly thrown outside.
