The Church of the Lord Worldwide Liberia Province has elevated several clergymen to the esteemed position of bishop, extending its leadership across various counties.
The promotion ceremony marks a significant milestone in the church’s growth and organizational structure.
In an exclusive interview with this media outlet, the Provincial Head, Bishop Moses Victor Olasemojo, expressed joy and pride over the elevation of the newly appointed bishops.
He emphasized that the promotion was not just a recognition of past efforts but a call to greater responsibility.
“The work of a bishop is to oversee the diocese,” Bishop Olasemojo stated. “What they did to qualify them as bishops should not be forgotten because the position is a responsibility that requires more work. Being a bishop is about working harder, coordinating activities, and shepherding the faithful in their respective dioceses.”
Among the newly ordained bishops are: James Wreh Collins, Bishop for South West Montserrado, Morris Zain, Bishop for Voinjama, Joseph Tamba, Bishop for Foya Diocese, among others.
These appointments come as the church continues to expand its reach and influence across Liberia.
Bishop Olasemojo detailed the process leading to their elevation, explaining that letters of recommendation were submitted for the candidates, who then underwent a three-day spiritual retreat.
“On the third day, they took their oath, and the following Sunday, the ordination ceremony was conducted,” he said.
The ordination service, held at the church’s provincial headquarters, was attended by members of the clergy, family, and well-wishers. It was marked by prayers, songs, and a powerful sermon reminding the new bishops of their sacred duty to serve with humility, diligence, and integrity.
The newly appointed bishops have vowed to uphold the values and mission of the Church of the Lord Worldwide. They have pledged to lead their dioceses with dedication, ensuring spiritual growth and unity among the faithful.
The promotions signify a new chapter for the church as it continues its mission of spreading the Gospel and fostering community development across Liberia.
