CEWCE Launches Nat’l Road Safety Awareness

The Center for Women and Children Empowerment (CEWCE) has officially launched its national Road Safety Awareness Campaign across Liberia.
The initiative, announced recently, is CEWCE’s own way of buttressing the government’s effort to promote safe practices on our roads and protect lives across the country.
The campaign’s goal is to raise awareness aimed at educating everyone about road safety risks, emphasizing the importance of following traffic rules, wearing seat belts, and avoiding distractions.
Another is behavior change, which can help reduce accidents caused by speeding, drunk driving, and other risky actions, including collaboration that will bring together all community members, schools, businesses, and local organizations to join hands in creating a safer road environment.
Meanwhile, CEWCE is encouraging everyone to be a part of said initiative by spreading the information through sharing of campaign messages on social media, workplaces, and among friends and family.
A CEWCE release, issued recently, added that they will organize workshops on road safety for volunteers to attend and learn practical tips for safer driving and pedestrian behavior, and that those benefiting from knowledge will form part of the awareness drives, distribution of pamphlets, and engage with the community.
CEWCE is a non-political and non-religious organization bent on advocating for change by encouraging local authorities to improve road infrastructure and enforce safety regulations, with a vision statement: “Together, we can make a difference and save lives. Let’s drive safely and protect our loved ones.”
