The Liberia Revenue Authority through the Bong County Service Center has generated revenues amounting to L$ 3, 841,926.15 and US$16,322.46 in the county.
The Bong County Service Center was established on April 25, 2016, by an Act to deliver services to the people of the county.
Speaking in an interview with journalists on April 17, 2023, in Gbarnga, the Bong County Service Center Coordinator, Jefferson Gbaryan, said the amount was generated from August to December 2022.
He said services were delivered to 2307 of which 1314 were males, 950 females and 43 couples.
Mr. Gbaryan said out of 2307 end users,1255 flag receipts were issued by the National Identification Registry which generated the amount of L$1,039,545 and US$9,647 which he said was deposited in the account of the entity.
The Bong County Service Center boss further said since the establishment of the center in the county, they have not been able to offer services like the ECOWAS Biometric Identification cards, divorce certificates among others.
Mr. Gbaryan is at the same time calling on the government to provide the center with a utility vehicle in order to enhance the work of the service center at the community level and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to decentralize the printing of certificates at the county service center for the consumption of the end users.
He said he wants the Ministry of Land Mines and Energy to be added to the county service center for more income generation.
Mr. Gbaryan, who also expressed sadness, wants the allotment from the Ministry of Finance to be on time so as to allow coordinators to be able to supply their support staff working at the county service center, adding “We should also be placed on the payroll with our title and our require payment.”
Additionally, Mr. Gbaryan want the consideration of increments in salaries and benefits so as to motivate the county service center staff in the discharge of their respective duties.
