President George M. Weah has donated 300 bags of 25 kg rice to the Muslim Community in observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan in Bong County.
Presenting the rice on behalf of the President, Bong County Inspector, Moses Stubblefield said the rice donated is intended to assist Muslims in the county as they go through the holy month of Ramadan.
He pledged the President’s commitment to doing more in other to improve the livelihood of every citizen across the Country.
Mr. Stubblefield added that the government of President Weah is aware of the numerous challenges Muslims go through during the month of Ramadan.
He told the Muslim community that President Weah stands for unity and peace, adding he wants to see all Liberians working together for the overall development of the country.
He believes that the rice to the Muslim community in the county will play a major role in minimizing some of the financial burdens they are going through in getting food.
Mr. Stubblefield at the same time called on the Muslim community to offer prayers for the country for better leadership and God’s direction during this critical time in the nation’s existence.
He further urged them to offer special prayers during the period of fasting for peace, stability, and progress in the country.
He added that President Weah is calling on them as Muslims to register and participate in the pending October 10, 2023, general and presidential elections in Liberia.
Taking delivery of the rice, the Chairperson of the Muslim community in the county, Alhadji Abu Siakor, and the Chief Imam of the Muslim community, Abu Swaray, extended thanks and appreciation to President Weah for identifying with them during the Ramadan.
The Bong County Muslims Community leaders extolled President Weah for the kind gesture and noted that he is not strange to them recalling that since President Weah’s ascendancy to the presidency, he has always surprised the Muslim Community in Liberia.
