By Laurina B. Lormia
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menina Resort, William Kotee, has unveiled a serene and tranquil environment in Zoweinta, Bong County, designed to offer Liberians an ideal retreat to relax and rejuvenate.
The newly opened resort aspires to be a top choice for leisure and relaxation in Liberia, delivering a unique experience for all its visitors.
Speaking to The Inquirer Newspaper on Tuesday, December 10, Mr. Kotee emphasized the resort’s dedication to promoting well-being.
He described the space as a haven for families, individuals, and groups seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Montserrado and other urban areas.
According to him, their goal is to help people take care of their mental and emotional health stressing, “This space has been carefully designed to provide comfort, privacy, and relief from stress.”
He noted that the resort offers an environment that allows visitors to unwind in nature, fostering a sense of tranquility.
Mr. Kotee shared the challenges he faced as a Liberian entrepreneur in establishing the resort. “Involving yourself in business in Liberia, especially when it comes to securing capital for a large investment, is difficult.”
He lamented that the reluctance of banks to provide the necessary resources for such ventures took him considerable time to gather the funds needed to bring his vision to life explaining that the planning for the resort began two to three years ago, with physical construction recently completed.
The facility was officially dedicated on November 29, 2024. “It was a long journey, but seeing it come to fruition is rewarding,” the CEO remarked.
Mr. Kotee expressed his vision of making Menina Resort a leading leisure destination not only in Bong County but across Liberia.
He emphasized the resort’s commitment to creating an eco-friendly environment that allows visitors to connect with nature and enjoy moments of peacetime.
He, however, revealed plans to expand the resort’s facilities to the nearby St. John River. “We want to showcase the natural beauty of Liberia,” he said; “Our future developments will include establishments along the river to give guests an unforgettable experience.”
“The resort offers a variety of amenities and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of its clientele. From family-friendly spaces to private areas for personal retreats, the facility aims to cater to a broad audience,” he concluded.
With its serene location, innovative plans, and focus on well-being, Menina Resort is poised to become a cornerstone of relaxation and leisure in Liberia, offering a unique experience that celebrates both nature and hospitality.
The resort’s eco-friendly approach underscores its dedication to sustainable tourism, hoping this initiative will inspire others in the tourism sector to prioritize environmental conservation while providing quality services.
