President Joseph Boakai, has nominated Amara Soko Sackor as Ambassador Designate to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This nomination, pending Senate’s confirmation, underlines the President’s commitment to ensuring effective representation of Liberia’s interests abroad.
Mr. Sackor, a seasoned professional, brings extensive experience and expertise to the role, ensuring Liberia’s continued engagement and strengthening of bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The President remains steadfast in his commitment to enhancing Liberia’s global partnerships and promoting the nation’s strategic interests on the international stage.
President Boakai called on appointed officials of government to continue to demonstrate diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to the country.
In a related development, President Boakai has also relieved NSA Assistant Director for Operations Nesco Aleo Wolo.
Wolo was dismissed with immediate effective for what was termed administrative reasons.
Though the official statement refrained from detailing the cause of Wolo’s dismissal, his removal follows controversy surrounding his unauthorized participation in the funeral of the late Senator Prince Y. Johnson.
The NSA had previously issued a directive instructing Wolo to return all agency property, including a vehicle, badge, communication headset, weapon, and identification card.
The agency accused Wolo of violating internal protocols by delivering a tribute on behalf of the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) during the event.
On January 20, 2025, Deputy Director for Administration Patrick P. Doe requested Wolo to provide a written explanation of his actions, emphasizing the importance of strict adherence to agency regulations.
Meanwhile, President Boakai’s decision to relieve Wolo of his post highlights his administration’s commitment to maintaining professionalism, discipline, and accountability within Liberia’s security institutions.
The President thanked Wolo for his service and wished him well in his future endeavors as it is believed that Wolo might never resurface in the Boakai-led administration if the President is true to his words.
