President Joseph Boakai has underscored Liberia’s readiness to collaborate with Ghana in advancing peace, security, and economic development across the West African sub-region.
Speaking during a meeting with Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, in Accra, President Boakai highlighted Ghana’s critical role in maintaining stability within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
According to him, Liberia believes in Ghana’s leadership and its contributions to fostering peace and stability in West Africa. “We are ready to work together on regional and international priorities to address challenges and create opportunities for our nations,” President Boakai affirmed.
President Boakai emphasized that, collaboration between Liberia and Ghana is essential to advancing the shared interests of ECOWAS member states.
President-elect John Mahama expressed his heartfelt appreciation for President Joseph Boakai’s visit, describing it as a gesture of solidarity and mutual respect.
He emphasized Ghana’s unwavering commitment to fostering and deepening partnerships across the West African sub-region, with Liberia being a key ally. “Your visit is a testament to the shared vision, strong bond, and enduring friendship between our two nations,” Mahama remarked.
He further highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing regional challenges and advancing collective growth, underscoring the critical role of unity in achieving sustainable development for both countries and the broader ECOWAS community.
However, the discussions between the two leaders focused on strengthening regional integration, enhancing trade, tackling climate change, and boosting economic growth. The meeting reflects a renewed commitment by both leaders to foster unity and address common challenges facing the sub-region.
