President Joseph Boakai is set to lead a high-level delegation to Freetown, Sierra Leone, on Monday, November 18, 2024, for a five-day working visit.
President Boakai and his team will travel by road from Monrovia to Bo-Waterside before crossing into Sierra Leone.
The delegation includes Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Agriculture Minister Alexander Nuetah, Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin, and Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah.
Other officials accompanying the President are National Security Advisor Samuel Kofi Woods, along with Economic Advisors Saah Johnny and Morley Kamara.
During the visit, President Boakai will pay a courtesy call to the Mano River Union headquarters in Freetown.
As one of the founding members of the regional body, Liberia will engage in discussions focused on strengthening economic collaboration, enhancing regional security, and fostering networks among member countries.
According to Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana, President Boakai will also tour key sites in Sierra Leone, including an industrial farm and environmentally significant areas.
While in Freetown, President Julius Maada Bio is expected to host a state reception in honor of President Boakai and his delegation, underscoring the deep historical and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
This marks President Boakai’s first official visit to Sierra Leone since assuming office. The visit is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, November 23, 2024, when the Liberian delegation will return home.
